Q Post your reaction to some aspect of the lectures, required reading, recommended reading, or other materials related to the themes for this week. This is not a "reaction paper"--you do not have to submit a polished piece of writing. Instead, look at this like a comment you might make about the course materials during a class discussion. Try to focus on some aspect of the material that you genuinely find significant. A reasonable length for a reaction is the equivalent of 1/2 to 1 page of typed double-spaced writing (125-250 words). Some of the questions you may keep in mind while studying the material, and which may help you think of topics for your reactions: What ideas in the material do I find especially insightful for understanding the period we are studying? What ideas in the material do I disagree with or find misleading for understanding the period? What aspects of the period that I consider important are not dicussed in the materials? What aspects of the period are important for understanding the sources of events, social conditions, or problems of later times? What ideas in the material are useful for analyzing the conditions or problems of the present day?
